The Two Freed MPs Not Allowed Into The Polish Parliament
Mariusz Kaminski and Michal Wasik, former Interior Ministers, are standing in front of the Polish Parliament in Warsaw, Poland, on February 7, 2024. They are trying to enter Parliament despite having lost their parliamentary seats due to a two-year jail sentence for abuse of power in 2007 when they led the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBA). The law states that individuals with a final conviction cannot hold a seat in the Sejm of the Republic of Poland, even if they have been pardoned by the President of the Republic of Poland. Kaminski and Wasik have left prison after being pardoned for the second time by President Andrzej Duda. (Photo by Andrzej Iwanczuk/NurPhoto)
