The Two Freed MPs Not Allowed Into The Polish Parliament
Mariusz Kaminski (C) is standing in front of the Polish Parliament in Warsaw, Poland, on February 7, 2024. Mariusz Kaminski and Michal Wasik, former Interior Ministers, along with prominent Law and Justice MPs, are trying to enter Parliament despite having lost their parliamentary seats following a two-year jail sentence for abuse of power in 2007 when they were leading the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBA). Under the law, individuals with a final conviction are not allowed to sit in the Sejm of the Republic of Poland, even if they have been pardoned by the President of the Republic of Poland. Mariusz Kaminski and Michal Wasik have left prison after being pardoned for the second time by President Andrzej Duda. (Photo by Andrzej Iwanczuk/NurPhoto)
