Mourning For H.S.R. Vittorio Emanuele Of Savoy's Death
The coffin of the late Vittorio Emanuele is lying in the Saint Hubert Chapel at the Reggia of Venaria Reale, near Turin, Italy, on February 9, 2024, on the eve of his funeral ceremony. Vittorio Emanuele di Savoia, who passed away in Geneva on February 3, 2024, was the son of Umberto II di Savoia, the last king of Italy, and Maria Jose. After the Italian Republican Constitution was enforced on January 1, 1948, former sovereigns, their consorts, and male descendants of the House of Savoy were banned from entering and residing in Italy. This exile ended at the end of 2002. The funeral of Vittorio Emanuele di Savoia is scheduled to take place in the Duomo of Turin on February 10, 2024. (Photo by Mauro Ujetto/NurPhoto)
