February Full Moon - "Snow Moon", "Hunger Moon"
February's Second Full Moon Of 2024 Is Known By Many Names Like ''Snow Moon'', ''Hunger Moon'' Or ''Minimoon''. This Full Moon Happens When The Moon Is Exactly On The Opposite Side Of The Earth From The Sun. As Per NASA, This Full Moon Is On Saturday Morning, February 24, 2024, ''appearing Opposite The Sun (in Earth-based Longitude) At 7:30 Am EST''. February's Full Moon Misses The Earth's Shadow, Because The Moon's Orbit Is Tilted By Five Degrees To The Plane Of The Earth's Orbit, And Therefore Earth Won't Be Directly Between The Sun And The Moon. The ''Snow Moon'' Is Seen Through The Gaps In The Branches And Leaves Of The Trees In A Forest At Tehatta, West Bengal; India On 24/02/2024.(Photo by Soumyabrata Roy/NurPhoto)
