Konark Sun Temple , Odisha.
A child is taking a selfie in front of a carved stone wheel at the Konark Sun Temple in Konark, Odisha, on February 24, 2024. The Konark Sun Temple, a 13th-century CE Sun temple located about 35 kilometers northeast of Puri city on the coastline in Puri district, Odisha, India, is dedicated to the Hindu Sun God Surya. The remaining structure of the temple complex resembles a 100-foot (30 m) high chariot with immense wheels and horses, all carved from stone. Although the temple once stood over 200 feet high, much of it is now in ruins, particularly the large shikara tower over the sanctuary, which used to rise much higher than the mandapa that still remains.
