Hindu Naga Baba Arrives In Pashupatinath Ahead Of Maha Shivaratri
Naga Babas, known as Naked Hindu saints, are smearing ashes over each other's bodies after taking a bath on the embankments of the Bagmati River next to the Pashupatinath Temple in Kathmandu, Nepal, on March 6, 2024. Hundreds of Hindu Saints from Nepal and India are gathering at the Pashupatinath Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, for the festival of Maha Shivaratri. This festival, dedicated to Lord Shiva, the destroyer of the universe according to Hindu belief, is celebrated with great pomp and fervor in South Asia. (Photo by Sanjit Pariyar/NurPhoto)
