World Water Day In Mexico
A group of people is dressing as the rain god Tlaloc and is aboard an allegorical trajinera for the festivities of La Flor Mas Bella del Ejido in Xochimilco, Mexico City, coinciding with World Water Day. The objective of La Flor Mas Bella del Ejido is to make the diversity of the native women of Xochimilco visible and to preserve and highlight the origins of the people who still preserve their customs and traditions. Meanwhile, the United Nations and its member states are dedicating World Water Day to putting UN recommendations into practice and promoting concrete initiatives within their countries that aim to raise awareness in society about the importance of the responsible and efficient use of water resources.
