World Water Day In Mexico

A young woman representing the different neighborhoods and villages of Xochimilco, Mexico City, is participating in an allegorical trajineras (traditional boat ride) to mark the festivities of La Flor Mas Bella del Ejido (The Most Beautiful Flower of the Ejido), which coincides with World Water Day. The goal of La Flor Mas Bella del Ejido is to showcase the diversity of the native women of Xochimilco and to preserve and highlight the origins of the people who still maintain their customs and traditions. Meanwhile, the United Nations and its member states are dedicating World Water Day to implementing UN recommendations and promoting concrete initiatives within their countries that aim to raise awareness about the importance of responsible and efficient use of water resources.
