Procession Of The Madonna Desolata
(EDITOR'S NOTE: Image was converted to black and white) Women are covering their faces during the procession for the Madonna Desolata in Canosa di Puglia, Italy, on March 30, 2024. The procession of the Madonna Desolata is bringing life to the streets of Canosa di Puglia since the early hours of Holy Saturday, and it is truly a remarkable performance. Around 400 women are participating, all dressed in black with their faces covered, which creates an even more intense and emotional atmosphere. Due to its organization and the large number of visitors it draws from across Apulia and beyond, the Desolata is certainly one of the most evocative and engaging Holy Week ceremonies.
