Around 400 women are participating, all dressed in black with their faces covered, which creates an even more intense and emotional atmosphere. Due to its organization and the large number of visitors it draws from across Apulia and beyond, the Desolata is certainly one of the most evocative and engaging Holy Week ceremonies.
