Guido Westerwelle has died
German Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle talks to the press after the General Affair and external relations council of EU foreign ministers in Brussels, Belgium on 2011-01-31 Europe demands reform in Egypt and moves to open a new chapter in ties with Tunisia on January 31 as it comes under pressure to speak up on the turmoil in its Arab backyard. The ministers are expected to agree to freeze the assets of ejected Tunisian leader Zine El Abidine Ben Ali and his associates. Guido Westerwelle has died on March 18, 2016 in Cologne following complications from leukemia treatment. Westerwelle was also well known as Germany's first openly homosexual cabinet member.
