Protest Of National Education Against Prime Minister Attal Projects

Protesters are holding a banner that reads 'No to levels classes, yes to equality' in Toulouse, France, on April 22, 2024. All unions have called for a day of strike and protest for better wages and are demanding an end to what they describe as the dismantling of the public education service, as well as calling for more resources and teachers. Schoolteachers and teachers are demonstrating in a joint protest with all unions (CGT, SUD, SNES, FFSU, FO, etc.) against what French Prime Minister Gabriel Attal refers to as the 'shock of knowledges', 'level groups', and the idea of mandatory uniforms up to university level. Protests and strikes are taking place all over France in a national day of action with the slogan 'No withdrawal, no means, no return to classrooms'. (Photo by Alain Pitton/NurPhoto)
