Golu Devta Temple

Hindu devotees are affixing a small bell to the Golu Devta Temple (Bell Temple) in Ghorakhal, Uttarakhand, India, on April 20, 2024. Golu Devta is a deity revered by the Kumaoni and Garhwali communities of India. The deity of this temple is Golajya Dev or Golu Devta, who is believed to be a dispenser of justice. People are coming here to pray to Golu Devta to deliver justice to them if they have been involved in a lengthy court case or to remove obstacles from their lives. They are hanging a bell with or without their written plea to the poles of this temple. They will return with a larger bell if their plea is accepted and justice is delivered. Bells made of brass alloy are available at shops selling puja items outside the temple. (Photo by Creative Touch Imaging Ltd./NurPhoto)
