Forest Fire Ravages Parts Of Nepal With Onset Of Summer
Nepali firefighters from the Nepal Army and Armed Police Force (APF) are holding hoses as they try to control a blaze that started in a local forest in the Lalitpur District of Central Nepal, on April 30, 2024. The hills surrounding the Kathmandu Valley are continuing to billow smoke as they are ravaged by a forest fire. This year, Nepal is witnessing a rise in forest fire incidents, affecting the Air Quality Index (AQI). On average, Nepal records at least one thousand incidents of forest fire across the country each year. (Photo by Subaas Shrestha/NurPhoto)
