ICJ Delivers Order On Nicaragua V Germany Case

The delegation from Nicaragua, along with their legal team, is currently in The Hague, Netherlands. Carlos José Argüello Gómez, who is the head of Nicaragua's legal team and Ambassador to the Kingdom of the Netherlands, is present on the right, with Carlos Jose next to him on the second right. The International Court of Justice (ICJ) in The Hague is currently rejecting Nicaragua's request to block Germany from selling weapons to Israel. The judges have voted 15 against 1, rejecting the request for an emergency order that would direct Germany to halt arms sales to Israel amid a conflict with Palestinians in Gaza that Nicaragua claims could be genocidal. ICJ President Nawaf Salam has written in the ruling that the court concludes that the current circumstances do not require the exercise of its power to indicate provisional measures. Outside of The Peace Palace, a protest in support of Palestine and Nicaragua is taking place on April 30, 2024. (Photo by ___)
