ICJ Delivers Order On Nicaragua V Germany Case
The Peace Palace, which houses the International Court of Justice (ICJ), is seen here with tulip flowers in the foreground. The ICJ in The Hague, Netherlands, is currently rejecting Nicaragua's request to prevent Germany from selling weapons to Israel. With a vote of 15 against 1, the judges have declined the request for an emergency order that would require Germany to stop arms sales to Israel amidst the ongoing conflict with Palestinians in Gaza. ICJ President Nawaf Salam stated in the ruling that the current circumstances do not necessitate the court's intervention with provisional measures. Outside the Peace Palace, a protest in support of Palestine and Nicaragua is taking place on April 30, 2024. (Photo by ___)
