Iran-Daily Life In Iran’s First Ever Nuclear Seaport City Of Bushehr

This city is notable for being Iran's first nuclear seaport on the northern coast of the Persian Gulf, located 1090km (677 miles) south of Tehran. The Bushehr nuclear power plant's history dates back to 1975 when Iran signed a contract with the German company Siemens for its construction to provide electricity and diversify energy resources. The project was interrupted by the Islamic Revolution in 1979, and subsequent political sanctions led Germany to cease its involvement. After a prolonged delay, Iran reached an agreement with Russia in 2004 to complete the power plant. Eventually, in 2011, the Bushehr nuclear power plant became operational and was connected to the national electricity grid, marking it as Iran's first and only active nuclear power plant.
