Pro-Palestinian Protesters In Amsterdam, Netherlands
Pro-Palestinian demonstrators are rallying from the University of Amsterdam (UvA), where students and supporters are shouting slogans for a ceasefire, ''Free Palestine,'' and ''Hands off Rafah,'' while holding banners with similar messages. Thousands supporting Palestine are continuing to flock the streets, marching through the city center of Amsterdam and ending at the UvA's administrative center, Maagdenhuis, at Spui. Mobile units of riot police and dogs are intervening, escalating the situation, and clashes are breaking out between students and police officers. The protest is concluding with a silent sit-in. Injuries and three arrests have been reported during the unrest in Amsterdam, Netherlands, on May 9, 2024.
