Asian Long-horned Beetle
The Asian long-horned beetle, also known as the starry sky or sky beetle, is native to China, Korea, Japan, and Taiwan. It was accidentally introduced to North America and Europe in the 1990s and has since become a serious threat to the health of dozens of species from 15 plant families, including maples, elms, and willows. The Asian long-horned beetle has the potential to be one of the most devastating pests of all time. This photo was taken in Taipei, Taiwan, on July 16, 2022. (Photo by Karel Picha/NurPhoto)
