Sunken Town In The Philippines Remerges Due To Rising Temperatures
Remnants of the old sunken town of Pantabangan are reemerging at a reservoir as a result of a severe drought caused by extreme heat in Pantabangan, Philippines, on May 12, 2024. The 300-year-old settlement, which includes a church and several tombstones, is becoming a tourist attraction following a decline in water levels at the dam, caused by rising temperatures and exacerbated by the El Nino climate patterns.
