Sunken Town In The Philippines Remerges Due To Rising Temperatures
A tourist is visiting the remnants of the old sunken town of Pantabangan that have reemerged at a reservoir, as a result of a severe drought due to extreme heat, in Pantabangan, Philippines, on May 12, 2024. The 300-year-old settlement, which includes a church and several tombstones, has recently become a tourist attraction, following a decline in water levels at the dam caused by rising temperatures and exacerbated by the El Nino climate patterns.
