A 31-year-old male is being shot and is in critical condition after attempting to intervene and stop a robbery in Chicago, Illinois, United States, on May 17, 2024. At approximately 3:49 a.m., Friday morning outside of Estelle's Cafe and Lounge on the 2000 block of W. North Ave., a 33-year-old female and a 35-year-old female are standing outside when two suspects are pulling up in a vehicle and demanding their property at gunpoint. A 31-year-old male is attempting to intervene and he is being shot and sustaining a gunshot wound to the torso. The suspects are fleeing westbound on North Ave. in a Silver Sedan.
