Evidence Markers At Scene Of EDP Shot By NYPD Officers And Killed After Charging At Officers With A Knife In Brooklyn New York

Evidence markers are down on the ground, highlighting the crime scene where an emotionally disturbed 26-year-old male is being shot and killed by officers after charging at NYPD officers with a knife in Brooklyn, New York, on May 26, 2024. At approximately 2:20 a.m. on Sunday morning, in front of 155 Eldert Street, two police officers are finishing up a call for service. While the two officers are sitting in their vehicle, the male is hitting the vehicle. When confronting the individual, the male is holding two knives. Tasers are used and are effective, causing the male to drop one of the knives, but he then gets up to his feet and charges at the officers with the other knife, which is when officers discharge their weapons. The 26-year-old male victim is being transported to the hospital where he is pronounced dead. The officers are being sent to the hospital for treatment. (Photo by Kyle Mazza/NurPhoto)
