Chicago police and the crime scene unit are investigating the shooting and putting down evidence markers for shell casings, with over 80 evidence markers being placed. Three people are being shot in Chicago, Illinois, United States, on June 12, 2024. On Wednesday afternoon at approximately 1:55 p.m., on the 5900 block of S. Western Ave., a 41-year-old female victim and a 42-year-old male victim are inside a vehicle traveling northbound on Western Ave. when an unknown male suspect standing near the sidewalk shows a firearm and fires shots in the direction of the victim's vehicle. The 41-year-old female victim is being struck multiple times in the body by gunfire and is being transported to the hospital initially listed in good condition. The 42-year-old male victim is being struck multiple times in the body by gunfire and is being transported to the hospital initially listed in good condition. A 30-year-old male victim is self-transporting to the hospital with a gunshot wound to the chest. The victim is initially listed in good condition. A firearm is being recovered on the scene.
