Chicago police are investigating the crime scene where a 7-year-old boy is being shot and killed on the 2200 block of West Jackson Boulevard in Chicago, Illinois, on June 18, 2024. Tuesday afternoon, Chicago police officers are responding to the 2200 block of West Jackson Boulevard for a shooting, and when police arrive, they are discovering a 7-year-old boy with a gunshot wound to the chest. Police are rushing him to the hospital where he is being pronounced dead. At a press conference at Stroger Hospital with Chicago Police Department Superintendent Larry Snelling and Mayor of Chicago Brandon Johnson, it is being explained that the child is leaving his residence and going to visit a neighbor.
