Yearly Bavarian Sheep Shepherd’s Parade. Mittenwald’s Autumn Tradition

On September 7, 2024, in Mittenwald, Germany, the annual sheep drive sees the flock return from the high summer pastures. The narrow streets of the violin-making village bustle with the bleating of sheep, their soft, woolly forms moving in unison as they are guided toward the Schafstadl above the Groblalm.
