Baltimore, Maryland — On Saturday, April 23, at the historical Carter Memorial Church of God in Christ, U.S. Senator and Presidential candidate Bernie Sanders was joined by Danny Glover, Dr. Jamal Bryant, Ben Jealous, Kwame Rose (a social activist and public speaker who gained notoriety during the Baltimore Uprising for his confrontation with Fox News reporter Geraldo Rivera, challenging the media's representation of protestors after Freddie Gray's death.), and another young activist, met with the community and supporters for a conversation and Q&A. Carter Memorial Church of God in Christ was a stop on the Underground Railroad with a tunnels still existing underneath the church that slaves used secretly to run to a train station down the street for their freedom.
