Tourism - Sambranikodi Island
A crowd of Indian tourists visits seafood restaurants on a dock near Sambranikodi Island in Kerala, India, on April 6, 2024. Sambranikodi Island is situated at the southern tip of Ashtamudi Lake in the Ashtamudi backwaters, approximately 10 kilometers away from the main city of Kollam. In ancient times, small ships from China anchor along this coast, and local people refer to these ships as 'chambrani.' Later, the place becomes known as Sambranikodi. Currently, Sambranikodi is one of the most popular tourist attractions in the Kollam district. It offers a view of waterways fringed by lush mangroves. (Photo by Creative Touch Imaging Ltd./NurPhoto)
