Toulouse: First Intense Heatwave Of The Summer In France
The Garonne River experiences a heatwave. France suffocates under its first heatwave of the year. Some temperature records are and will be broken during this heatwave, especially in the west. France is 8 to 15?C above normal temperatures for June. This heatwave results from an omega phenomenon where a drop of hot air is blocked by fresh air. Nearly all departments, such as Haute-Garonne (Toulouse), are placed on yellow alert for heat, and sixteen are placed on orange alert.
