After four years of drought, a good harvest is expected in Catalonia
For the first time since 2020, the vineyards in the Penedes region are green and healthy. After a long drought, spring rains reverse the negative trend that severely affects one of Catalonia's most important wine-producing regions. This period of drought damages the vines to the point of death or abandonment by their owners. A large harvest is not expected, but expectations are positive, as evidenced by the vineyards of Sant Sadurni d'Anoia. In the photo, old vines die due to the drought, in Sant Sadurni d'Anoia, Barcelona, Spain, on July 9, 2025. (Photo by Joan Valls/Urbanandsport/NurPhoto)
