4.9 Earthquake Struck West Java
Villagers collect remaining items from the destroyed prayer room in Walahar village, Bekasi regency, on August 21, 2025, after a 4.9 magnitude earthquake strikes Karawang Regency, West Java Province, about 28 KM from Jakarta, on Wednesday night, August 20. The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) records that the earthquake causes damage to 37 houses, as well as four public facilities, such as a community health center, sub-district office, school, and place of worship, with 101 residents from 38 families affected.
