Gen-Z's Anti-corruption Protest In Nepal Enters Second Day After 19 Killed In Single Day
Nepali protestors set fire to the Nepali Congress central office in Lalitpur, Nepal, on September 9, 2025, on the second day of the nationwide protest against corruption and the social media ban. At least 19 protestors die in a single day when the security forces open fire on Gen-Z protestors across various districts of Nepal on September 8, 2025. The police use water cannons, tear gas, and live ammunition against protesters. The police fire while taking cover inside the parliament as the protestors swarm into the building and set the entrance on fire. Demonstrations continue across Kathmandu and other major cities, with Gen Z protesters rallying against social media restrictions and government corruption. (Photo by Subaas Shrestha/NurPhoto)
