Toulouse: Demonstration Against The French Government And Gaza

All trade unions unite, and thousands of people take to the streets in Toulouse, France, on September 10, against Macron's economic policies after a day called 'Bloquons tout' (Block everything). This movement launches at the beginning of the summer on social networks against Macron's policies: downsizing the welfare state to cut taxes for businesses, increasing the Defense and Interior Ministry budgets, and his choice of conservative Sebastien Lecornu as the new Prime Minister. His pro-business stance angers French people, who blockade everywhere in France on September 10. A gathering and a march are authorized by the Prefect of Occitanie. The Prefect decides to forbid the gathering called by the CGT union and the march one and a half hours before the beginning. Riot police charge and clash violently with peaceful protesters and CGT unionists using tear gas and pepper spray. (Photo by Alain Pitton/NurPhoto)
