Farmers Harvest Marigold Flowers For Tihar Festival In Kathmandu, Nepal
A farmer plucks marigold flowers from a field to sell in markets during the Tihar festival on the outskirts of Kathmandu, Nepal, on October 19, 2025. Marigold flowers, one of the main flowers used during the Festival of Lights, are in full bloom on the surrounding hills. They are used to make garlands for prayers to crows, dogs, cows, and Goddess Laxmi. According to locals, the bloom this year is relatively less compared to last year.
