Last Supermoon Of The Year
An airplane flies close to the silhouette of the moon, which raises its visible face above the skies of Lisbon, Portugal, on December 5, 2025. Nature shows the last supermoon of the year, known as the Cold Supermoon. In its full phase and coinciding with the perigee, the satellite is located just 356,000 kilometers from Earth, appearing up to 14% larger and 30% brighter than a conventional full moon. This phenomenon, which closes a rare sequence of three consecutive supermoons, lights up the sky with an exceptional glow and marks the end of the 2025 astronomical calendar.
