Nepal's Fraud Indicted Former Home Minister Rabi Lamicchane Gets Heroic Welcome At Party Office After Being Released On Bail
Rabi Lamichhane, the former Nepali Home Minister, greets supporters and party cadres from his vehicle upon arrival at the party office in Kathmandu, Nepal, on December 21, 2025, after being released on bail. Lamichhane, who is also the President of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), is released on bail on December 19, 2025. The Butwal bench of Tulsipur High Court issues an order for Lamichhane's release on bail. As per the court order, Lamichhane, who is in Nakkhu jail, Lalitpur, reaches Bhairahawa district in person and completes every procedure for the release. Earlier, the District Court, Rupandehi, denies his release on bail despite submitting the bank deposit, which prompts Lamichhane to approach the High Court. Information Officer at District Court, Padam Aryal, informs that Lamichhane deposits NRs 37.4 million as bail. Lamichhane faces the case of misappropriation of cooperatives fund.
