Banana Cultivation In India
India is the world's largest banana producer, contributing over 26% of global production. The crop is economically and culturally significant, cultivated mainly in southern and western states. It requires high nutrient levels, particularly nitrogen and potassium, and is a profitable agribusiness supporting millions. India's banana exports rise significantly, aided by government initiatives and support from institutions like NABARD. The banana stem, the pale inner core, is juiced or cooked in curries for digestion, blood sugar control, and detoxing.
