The Artigas Gardens, Gaudi little-known Park Guell
A pergola with a fountain featuring a lion, representing the evangelist Saint Mark, is seen in the Artigas Gardens in La Pobla de Lillet, Spain, on April 27, 2026. Designed by Antoni Gaudi between 1905 and 1906, these gardens are one of the Catalan architect's lesser-known works, featuring plant motifs, grottoes, stone sculptures, and symbols of the four Evangelists. The gardens gained recognition in 1971 when Gaudi's authorship was confirmed. They are now a major tourist attraction, coinciding with the Gaudi Year celebrations.
