Palestinian Amputee Teen Continues Skating In Gaza

Palestinian amputee skating enthusiast, 13-year-old Akram Sharif Al-Fayoumi, inside his family's tent in the west of Gaza City, on May 13, 2026. The teenager, originally from the Shuja'iyya neighborhood, was injured on August 8, 2024, in an Israeli military operation on eastern Gaza City. He lost his left arm and right leg and remains displaced with his family in western Gaza City. Despite his injuries and displacement, Akram continues to practice his favorite hobby, inline skating, with the help of a prosthesis. (Photo by Majdi Fathi/NurPhoto)
