Palestinian Amputee Teen Continues Skating In Gaza
Palestinian amputee skating enthusiast, 13-year-old Akram Sharif Al-Fayoumi, is assisted by his father inside the family's tent in western Gaza City, on May 13, 2026. The teenager, originally from the Shuja'iyya neighborhood, was injured on August 8, 2024, in an Israeli airstrike on eastern Gaza City, resulting in the loss of his left arm and right leg. He remains displaced with his family in western Gaza City. Despite his injuries and displacement, Akram continues to practice inline skating with the help of a prosthesis.
