Palestinian Amputee Teen Continues Skating In Gaza

Akram Sharif Al-Fayoumi, a 13-year-old Palestinian amputee and skating enthusiast, demonstrates his skills near his family's tent in the west of Gaza City on May 13, 2026. Originally from the Shuja'iyya neighborhood, Akram was injured on August 8, 2024, during an Israeli airstrike on eastern Gaza City, resulting in the loss of his left arm and right leg. He and his family remain displaced in western Gaza City. Despite these challenges, Akram continues to pursue his passion for inline skating with the aid of a prosthesis.
