Foreign diplomats visit Kyiv apartment block hit by Russian missile
Rescuers use an aerial work platform to examine the floors of a nine-storey apartment block in the Darnytskyi district, where a missile destroyed a section, in Kyiv, Ukraine, on May 15, 2026. The residential building was struck by a missile, reportedly a Kh-101, at around 3:00 a.m. local time on May 14. The missile detonated inside the building, causing an entire section to collapse, resulting in the deaths of 24 people, including three children, and injuring 48 others. The search and rescue operation lasted more than 28 hours, during which the State Emergency Service rescued 30 residents. (Photo by Yevhen Kotenko/Ukrinform/NurPhoto)
