Blue Moon - Micromoon - The Second Full Moon Of May
A rare ''Blue Micromoon'' is visible through date palm leaves, with scattered clouds occasionally drifting across the moon, forming various patterns in Tehatta, West Bengal, India, on May 30, 2026. This is the second full moon of May, known as a calendar Blue Moon, coinciding with a micromoon, where the moon is at its farthest point from Earth in its orbit for the year. As a result, the moon appears slightly smaller and dimmer than the average full moon. Blue Moons occur approximately every two to three years, with this being the only one in 2026; the next is expected in 2029. (Photo by Soumyabrata Roy/NurPhoto)
