Nepali Activists Pay Floral And Light Vigil To Animals On National Animal Rights Day

Nepali animal rights activists perform to create awareness about animal rights on National Animal Rights Day in Kathmandu, Nepal, on June 6, 2026. The program, organized jointly by Animal Save Nepal and animal lovers, aims to spread public awareness on animal rights issues through a memorial service and interactive activities. Participants advocate against cruelty and violence towards animals, calling for respect, conservation, and legal rights for non-human beings. A two-minute silence is observed in memory of animals killed by humans. Participants pay tribute by lighting candles, offering flowers, and sharing stories of animals. An informative session on cruelty-free and vegan lifestyles is also conducted. National Animal Rights Day, celebrated annually worldwide, is organized this year in more than 94 cities across over 50 countries. The objective of the day is to enhance public awareness about animal rights, advocate for the end of animal exploitation, and promote a compassionate lifestyle. (Photo by Subaas Shrestha/NurPhoto)
