Overflows of applicants compete for new taxi as announced by Department of Transport Management (DoTM)
Thousands of Nepalese earthquake victims queue to submit form to get new taxies as per the notice issued by the Department of Transport Management (DoTM) on August 10, 2016. Thousands of quake victims from 14 worst-hit districts including Dolakha, Gorkha, Sindhupalchowk, Kavre, Rasuwa, Dhading, Nuwakot, Bhaktapur, Kathmandu, Makawanpur, Lalitpur, Sindhuli, Ramechhap and Okhaldhunga of the country are filling forms to get new taxies as per the notice issued by the Department of Transport Management (DoTM) on July 20 till August 18, 2016. Nearly 50, 000 applicants have already submitted their applications, till ends of form submission the number could go up to 65, 000 to 70, 000, Government of Nepal has announced 1,500 taxes will be given by raffle among all applicants.
