Massive Russian attack damages Kyiv Pechersk Lavra and Mystetskyi Arsenal in Kyiv
Firefighters use aerial platforms to extinguish a fire on the roof of the Dormition Cathedral at the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra in Kyiv, Ukraine, on June 15, 2026. The fire follows a large-scale military operation involving missiles and strike drones. The operation results in four fatalities and 28 injuries, including children and a pregnant woman. At least 140,000 consumers are left without electricity due to damage to power grids. Residential buildings, the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra, the Mystetskyi Arsenal Museum Complex, the Dovzhenko Film Studio, and the building of the High Anti-Corruption Court sustain damage.
