Toulouse, As All Europe, Lived One Of Its Hottest Day On Record

MeteoFrance reports that this day is expected to be one of the hottest on record. The heatwave is characterized by its early onset, duration, and intensity, with numerous temperature records being broken, even at night. France is experiencing temperatures 8 to 16?C above normal for June. The heatwave is attributed to a phenomenon known as a heat dome, where hot air is trapped by cooler air. This event coincides with climate experts' warnings that limiting global warming to +1.5?C, as agreed during the 2015 COP21 in Paris, may not be achievable, with France already 2.2?C above the 1950-1990 average temperatures. Most French departments are under red alert, and schools have closed due to the heat. At least 18 people have died in France today due to the heat. Europe is experiencing unusually high temperatures.
