Young Guava Fruits Develop On Guava Tree During Nepal’s Monsoon Season
Young guava fruits are seen in their early growth phase on the branches of a guava tree in Kathmandu, Nepal, on July 14, 2026. The small, green fruits are developing after the flowering and pollination stage, attached to slender stems and surrounded by dense green foliage. During this stage, guava fruits gradually grow in size and undergo changes before reaching full maturity. In Nepal, guava (Psidium guajava) is a popular tropical and subtropical fruit crop cultivated across the Terai, mid-hill regions, and household gardens, including the Kathmandu Valley. The warm and humid conditions of the summer monsoon season, with regular rainfall and increased soil moisture, support plant growth and fruit development. Guava cultivation contributes to local agriculture, household farming, and seasonal income opportunities for growers. The fruit development stage remains sensitive to environmental conditions, including rainfall patterns, temperature changes, pests, and natural fruit drop before harvest.
