Zaporizhzhia under Russian guided bomb attack

A woman holding a dog hugs Kateryna, a resident who survived after a Russian guided aerial bomb struck a five-storey residential building, waiting for her 11-year-old daughter to be found beneath the rubble, in Zaporizhzhia, Ukraine, on July 19, 2026. In the evening, Russian forces launched two rounds of guided aerial bombs directly targeting residential quarters in several districts of the southeastern Ukrainian city. In total, 79 apartment blocks and more than 30 private houses were damaged. The five-storey building suffered the most destruction, with the bomb demolishing its two upper floors. As a result of the attack, three people (an 11-year-old child and two women aged 71 and 72) were killed, while the number of injured rose to 41, including children.
