Daily life in the highest village of Azerbaijan

Men butcher a ship on a yard of a house at Khinalig village, Quba region, Azerbaijan. The main business in Khinalig is sheep farming. The wealth of the family depends on the number of sheep. People eat sheep meat; use the wool for blankets and pillows. Sometimes they sell the wool to carpet factories. Not a long time ago, Khinalig people weaved handmade carpets at home. It’s easier and faster to buy a carpet nowadays, say local housewives. ( (Photo by Oleksandr Rupeta/NurPhoto))
