Daily life in the highest village of Azerbaijan
A woman is cleaning and scratching wool in her yard in Khinalig village, Quba region, Azerbaijan. The main business in Khinalig is sheep farming. The wealth of the family depends on the number of sheep. People eat sheep meat; use the wool for blankets and pillows. Sometimes they sell the wool for carpet factories. Not a long time ago Khinalig people weaved handmade carpets at home. It’s easier and faster to buy a carpet nowadays, say local housewives. ( (Photo by Oleksandr Rupeta/NurPhoto))
